My journey from Iowa to Taiwan is a story of relentless curiosity and a drive to innovate, spanning continents and disciplines. From my earliest days, I wasn't content just knowing things worked, I had to understand how. This drive led me to explore the hidden workings of electronic devices through careful deconstruction, and simultaneously inspired me to build and invent, from crafting cardboard robots for show-and-tell to designing original games for active, outdoor play. This Iowa upbringing instilled a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving that cultivated an engineer's mindset early on: a blend of curious deconstruction and joyful invention that forms the bedrock of my approach to innovation.

This burgeoning engineer's mindset quickly embraced the digital realm. Fluent with Macintosh systems by six and building custom PCs by ten, I launched my first award-winning website at fourteen, earning second place in a National HomePage Design Competition. My hunger for deeper technical challenges saw me proactively completing a graduate-level MEMS curriculum in high school, an early immersion into the intricate dance between physical systems and electronic control.

Inspired by the promise of artificial intelligence in science fiction, a core ambition crystallized: to build truly intelligent systems. I realized this vision demanded a fundamental, first-principles mastery of the underlying hardware. This imperative guided my major in Electronics Engineering, where I immersed myself in solid-state physics, systems engineering, and chip design, including hands-on clean room fabrication, while excelling in computer science coursework, such as cryptography, networking and compression. This deep hardware/software foundation then paved the way for a Master's in Electronics Design Automation, focusing on Evolutionary Algorithms, and a PhD candidacy in Biomedical Electronics and Bioinformatics, applying this engineering toolkit to unravel biological complexities and forge novel solutions.

My engineering foundation broadened through global experiences at the National Agriculture Library (NAL) in Maryland and Japan's Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST). These tenures were crucial for bridging bioinformatics theory with practical genomic research, deepening my understanding of complex organizational challenges and cross-cultural collaboration. This holistic perspective was then applied to spearhead pioneering sustainable energy solutions with Lanyang Geothermal in Taiwan. Across biotech, healthcare, and energy, my core strength lies in seeing beyond disciplinary silos, transforming complex scientific questions into robust, engineered realities. This comprehensive, full-stack perspective, understanding systems from the silicon to the algorithm, from the molecule to the deployed application, is my signature, enabling impactful contributions at the intersection of technology, science, and human ingenuity.

This interdisciplinary, first-principles approach proved transformative for the Lanyang Geothermal power system, a challenge many experts deemed insurmountable. By reimagining the process from its thermodynamic roots and designing custom hardware and software, we achieved a remarkable 50% increase in thermal efficiency. Similarly, this integrated methodology led to AI models that accelerated protein analysis 100-fold while maintaining 95% accuracy. These achievements underscore my core belief: true innovation emerges at the intersection of deep domain knowledge, a willingness to challenge assumptions, and the engineering prowess to turn visionary ideas into high-impact solutions.

This journey has forged a deeply ingrained philosophy to approach any challenge from first principles, then creatively synthesize knowledge across disciplines and engineer holistic solutions that span hardware, software, and deep domain expertise. Whether tackling intricate biological questions, designing efficient energy systems, or pioneering AI applications, this integrated, full-stack approach consistently unlocks novel pathways. I am driven to leverage this distinct blend of deep hardware understanding, sophisticated software expertise, and scientific insight to tackle the next generation of challenges, eager to contribute to world-class projects that redefine what's possible and push the boundaries of human knowledge.
