Associate Cloud Engineer

As a certified Associate Cloud Engineer, I am proficient in deploying and securing applications, services, and infrastructure on Google Cloud. I monitor operations across multiple projects and maintain enterprise solutions to ensure they meet target performance metrics. My experience extends to working with public clouds and on-premises solutions, enabling me to perform common platform-based tasks to maintain and scale deployed solutions that leverage Google-managed or self-managed services on Google Cloud. I can effectively set up a cloud solution environment, which includes establishing cloud projects and accounts, creating a resource hierarchy, applying organizational policies, and managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles. My skills also cover enabling APIs, provisioning Google Cloud's observability tools like Google Cloud Observability, managing quotas, setting up cloud networking, confirming product availability in specific geographical locations, configuring Cloud Asset Inventory, utilizing Gemini Cloud Assist for resource analysis, and managing billing configurations including accounts, budgets, alerts, and exports.

I am capable of planning and implementing robust cloud solutions by selecting and deploying appropriate compute resources, such as Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, and serverless functions, and choosing suitable storage options like Persistent Disk or Google Cloud Hyperdisk for them. This also involves implementing diverse storage and data solutions including Cloud Storage with its various tiers, Filestore, Google Cloud NetApp Volumes, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore, Spanner, AlloyDB, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Google Cloud Managed Service for Apache Kafka. I can design and configure networking resources, including Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) with subnets, Cloud Next Generation Firewall (Cloud NGFW) policies using Tags and service accounts, and establish network connectivity through Cloud VPN, VPC Network Peering, or Cloud Interconnect, as well as deploy various load balancers and differentiate Network Service Tiers. Furthermore, I am adept at planning and implementing resources using infrastructure as code tools such as Fabric FAST, Config Connector, Terraform, and Helm.

To ensure the successful operation of a cloud solution, I can manage compute resources by remotely connecting to instances, working with snapshots and images, managing GKE cluster inventories, node pools, and Kubernetes resources like Pods and Services, and handling application deployments and traffic splitting for services like Cloud Run. My capabilities extend to managing storage and data solutions by securing objects in Cloud Storage, setting lifecycle policies, executing queries across various databases, estimating storage costs, performing backups and restores, reviewing job statuses, and using Database Center. I also manage networking resources by adding and expanding subnets, reserving IP addresses, and working with Cloud DNS and Cloud NAT. A significant part of my role involves monitoring and logging, where I create alerts, ingest custom metrics, export logs, configure log buckets and log routers, use cloud diagnostics like Cloud Trace and Cloud Profiler, leverage Gemini Cloud Assist for Cloud Monitoring, and use Active Assist for optimization. Finally, I configure access and security by managing IAM policies, defining custom roles, and meticulously managing service accounts, including their creation, permissioning, impersonation, and credential management, ensuring secure integration with GKE applications.
