Fundamentals of Deep Learning

As a holder of the NVIDIA Fundamentals of Deep Learning certification, I have a solid understanding of how artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning are used to solve significant challenges across various industries, from healthcare enabling faster diagnoses, to retail personalizing customer experiences, and automotive enhancing vehicle safety and efficiency. I've learned that deep learning, with its multi-layered artificial neural networks, achieves state-of-the-art accuracy in tasks like object detection, speech recognition, and language translation, allowing computers to recognize complex patterns in data that traditional software might miss.

Through hands-on experience, I've learned the fundamental mechanics of deep learning, including how to train deep learning models from scratch for computer vision and natural language processing. I am capable of training computer vision models, utilizing convolutional neural networks to improve prediction accuracy, and applying data augmentation to enhance datasets for better model generalization. I can also leverage freely available, state-of-the-art pre-trained models to expedite the development of deep learning applications, integrate these models for tasks like image classification, and apply transfer learning to customize them for specific needs, such as creating a personalized automatic doggy door.

Furthermore, I have experience in training recurrent neural networks for sequential data, exemplified by building a model to autocomplete text based on New York Times headlines. In a final project, I applied computer vision techniques to create a model that distinguishes between fresh and rotten fruit by interpreting color images, building a data generator for small datasets, and improving training speed through transfer learning and feature extraction. I also gained insights into advanced neural network architectures, recent research areas for skill improvement, and learned how to set up my own AI application development environment.
